The town lies in the eastern part of the country, near the Black Sea, constituting a considerable part of romanian littoral.
Constanta is the ancient Tomis, an important harbour of the Black Sea (Marea Neagra - Fekete Tenger).
It's the county town of Constanta County.
It's a pleasure to walk along the beach or to spend time in the casino built in Rococo style.
There is an Aquarium that exposes the fauna of the Black Sea.
The Dolphinarium offers spectacles daily and there is a Planetarium too.
The airport is at 24 km distance from Constanta, in summer it has flights from/to all important towns in Europe.
