The settlement is at 12 km west from Gheorgheni, in a height of 750 m above sea-level.
The southern part of the village is called mures Sat (2 km).
South from the village is a volcanic crater, the Ostoros (1385 m), and there is a lake, Lacul Dracului (or Lucsos), which in conformity with the legends has no bottom.
