Făgăras is situated in the central part of the country, in the Fagaras Basin, south from the Făgăras Mountains, and north from the Olt river.
It lies in a height of 430 m above sea level, 66 km from Brasov and 76 km from Sibiu.
The Făgăras basin is like a large natural amphitheatre at the northern side of the "Transylvanian Alps" (Făgăras Mountains).

The Diana Pension is in the centre of Făgăras, in the neighborhood of the Town Hall and the Castle.
